Hi folks, Having been using an old Pentium D 820 for quite a long time, I have decided to upgrade my system. So I bought the new Intel Core i7 2600K CPU, Biostar TZ68A+ Motherboard, 8GB G.Skill RipjawsX 1600MHz DDR3 RAM and a FSP Saga II 500W PSU.
The old PC was quite lagging when painting some hi-res images in Corel Painter. Also I had only a 2GB RAM which was hardly enough for anything. The new i7 CPU was very tempting to purchase from a lot of reviews I have had read. I will assemble all the hardware tomorrow and I hope the performance increase will be worth the money. I'm waiting to render some hi-res 3D scenes in the new rig. :)
*Update* It's extremely fast! 8 render buckets in the place of 2.
